I know. I have been AWOL for a bit. Good reason though. A few months ago, my friend and fellow photographer
Chelsea Elizabeth emailed me and asked if I had Oct 25th open. She asked if I would fly to California and shoot it with her. Well…duh? Thank goodness I was open! So, after my 2 day stop in NY to visit with other friends and go to Photo Plus, I flew out early Friday morning and landed in LA!! I was so excited!! Exhausted and hungry, we skipped shopping (gasp! I know!) and hung out all day. We went to dinner at Duke’s in Malibu and then I needed to go to bed. We then left 3 1/2 hours before the wedding to drive down the coast and go into Santa Monica. We ate a quick lunch at the Third Street Promenade and headed to Beverly Hills for the most beautiful, exciting, funny wedding ever! The ceremony and reception were held at Il Cielo . AMAZING!
This was the first time I actually shot for someone else. I have never second shot in my life and let me tell you, it was different. It forced me to look at the things I don’t normally photograph. To let someone else have control. I did have to kick myself a few times for forgetting, but Chelsea didn’t seem to mind.
I am only posting images of details from the day due to a confidentiality agreement. So enjoy these gorgeous details here and check out more on
Chelsea’s Blog.
I’ll fly back in a heart beat if you need me, but this time, I am staying longer!!
Dara and Kevin…married
Saturday, we were back in Lancaster and The Historic Strasburg Inn for Dara and Kevin’s wedding. Krisha came with me this time. We met everyone at the church early to get most of the formals done. Dara kept commenting on how fast the day was flying because before we knew it, it was ceremony time! Dara was hiding back so Kevin couldn’t see her as the bridesmaids came down the aisle. She had herself and her sisters in tears. So her Dad was blowing on her eyes to dry them out. It was hysterical!
After a full mass, we drove to Strasburg and had a little more fun with the wedding party and Dara and Kevin alone. The girls were real troopers since it was a bit chilly.
The reception was absolutely gorgeous. Dara’s and her sisters made all the place card settings and favors. Right after dinner, the DJ got all the main events finished so everyone could just dance and party all night! I hope you guys enjoy the show and your days off!!

Susanne and Eric…married
Oh my gosh! My face still hurts from laughing and smiling on Saturday! Susanne and Eric’s wedding had to be one of the best times Liesa and I have had in a while. I swear if we all lived closer, we would be such good friends! (but that is what facebook is for!) From the moment we all got together, the laughs lasted all day.
We met Susanne and Shelly at St. Joseph’s in Lancaster and pretty much hung out until the dress arrived and the guys came back from the food run. Susanne and Eric decided to see each other before the ceremony to get all the photos done instead of waiting till later.
After the ceremony, we met the wedding party at the Historic Strasburg Inn before the reception to make use of the leaves changing and the yummy(for Liesa) sunlight. 😉
Then we went inside for the reception. Lots of crazy dancing and great food!! Shelly, you rocked it out!
PS. The iphone has this great lighter app that Shelly busted out during dinner…wait for it…. Cracked me up!
Here is your show guys! We had a blast!

Deb and Dan…married
It didn’t rain!! Thank goodness, it didn’t rain on Saturday for Deb and Dan’s wedding. I almost invested in a pair of rain boots….
What a beautiful day it was. Liesa and I met Deb and all the girls at Deb’s sister house in Harrisburg. (amazing house btw) We hung out for a bit for all the preparation and then hurried down the street to St Patrick’s Cathedral for the ceremony. Deb and Dan have a dog named Spencer and he means the world to them. So, since Saturday’s Patron Saint was St. Francis of Assisi, the Patron St. of animals, the church allowed Spencer to walk down the aisle with the ring bearer and flower girls. It was adorable!
After the grand exit to noise makers, we all met back at Allenberry Playhouse to do all the “formals” and the reception. What a perfect day it was!

Audrey and Mike…married
I thought Sunday was going to be a wash out like Saturday. But, despite the downpours at times, it was incredible! We were at Crossings Vineyard in Washington Crossing for Audrey and Mike’s wedding.
My friend Nicole Polk came along to help me out.
There was the cutest cottage at the back of the property where Audrey and the girls got ready. It was a girls dream! Everything was pink and brown with a hint of my favorite leopard print!! Awesome! So it wasn’t hard to find things to photograph in there. Before Audrey got dressed, Mike came in and Audrey ran into the dressing room. They decided to see each other before the wedding, but Audrey wanted it to be after the dress was on. It was a quick glimpse… Once they had their first look, we went outside to the vineyard while the rain had stopped for a little. The light was amazing and Audrey knew how to work the camera! Rain started falling and we ran back inside. Meanwhile everyone was running around trying to figure out where the ceremony was going to be because of the weather. After a few on and off again showers, it was decided that they would marry under the tent. It turned out beautifully. Later, the sun came out during cocktail hour and the fog was settling over the vineyards and I grabbed Audrey and Mike and said “Look!” They were all over it! So we shot for a few more minutes and then the rain started again. Once everyone was inside for dinner, Audrey’s sister and the best man gave their toasts. Then Mike stood up to toast his bride and there wasn’t a dry eye in the place! Audrey also surprised Mike with a grooms cake of the perfect wave. Once they cut those, we went downstairs to the barrel room for dancing. Despite the weather and all the set backs, it was an amazing day! Enjoy Hawaii!

Page and Jim…married
Saturday was the start of a busy weekend. Liesa and I headed down to Chadd’s Ford near Philly for Page and Jim’s wedding. We started at the hotel where everyone was getting ready. We found Page in the suite where she was waiting for her sister in law to help with the makeup process. So, in the meantime, we took the guys outside for some fun shots.
One of the groomsman’s phone ran and I was instructed that the bride wanted the guys to get their photo in front of Hooters which was right next door. I was happy that there were so laid back and didn’t care what we did. When we went back in to check on Page, she was just about ready to leave for the Museum. Liesa and I headed over to the Brandywine River Museum to get the details and wait for everyone to arrive. The ceremony was to be outside, but last minute, they changed and had everything on the second floor of the museum. It was set up great and luckily, I could go around in a big circle to get everything.
After the ceremony, we were racing against time with the light to get everything in, but ended up having fun with the lights outside the museum and some of our own lights.
This was an amazing venue! Unfortunately, we didn’t get to take advantage of the outside very much, but we had a fun pushing ourselves inside.

Barb and Ross…married
Saturday was an absolutely gorgeous day for a wedding! Barb and Ross were getting married in Ross’ family’s back yard. You would think by how immaculate this was landscaped, that Ross’ Mom had plans years ago to hold Ross’ wedding here. It was perfect! Liesa and I arrived at the house and found everyone in the backyard finishing laying out the bed of petals for the aisle. Kelly did an amazing job on the flowers everywhere as well.
Once Barb was dressed, we grabbed a few shots and then she headed downstairs to hide out before the ceremony. It was so cute to watch Barb get so excited about all the people arriving and the fact that she could see Ross, but he couldn’t see her. When the last shuttle of people arrived, the ceremony begun. Barb came down the aisle with her Father and Ross just lit up!
During the ceremony, there were a few small interruptions, but the pastor made light of the circumstances and everyone got a good chuckle. He also told a story of how Barb never really said yes to Ross when he proposed, that she immediately just started planning the wedding. So Ross got down on one knee and asked again. She said yes and the tears were flowing! When all was said and done, the guest got on the shuttles again and headed for the Hamilton Ball room. We stuck around for awhile to do family shots and spend some time with Barb and Ross.
The reception was beautiful. All the tables had amazing centerpieces and candles filled the room and stage. We got to Hamilton a bit before most of the guests. So, as I was photographing the one table, I felt like someone was close to me and then I jumped. There next to me was a life-size cut out of Elvis in his gold lame’ suit. I knew he was going to be there, but just didn’t see him next to me. It is a family joke between Ross’ Dad and Aunt. They are constantly sending each other Elvis memorabilia, so of course the King had to be placed at the Aunt’s table. He even got to dance for a bit.
After dinner, I snuck Barb and Ross out to take more photos. I love doing this because it seems to be a welcome break from all the greeting of family and gives them a few minutes to take in the day. These always tend to be my favorite images because they are so relaxed.
So here are a few from the day and your show.

Welcome to Leslie Gilbert Photography
It is finally here!! The new site!! It has been a long time in the making. I know the name change might be confusing for a while, but I think it is going to be an amazing journey of reinventing myself, my style and starting fresh! The blog is pretty simple. You can now search by categories if you are looking for something imparticular, or use the search option. You can now leave comments instead of the feedback button. The images are also going to be bigger. Yeah!! So, take a look around and let me know what you think!
Thanks to everyone who help me along the way. I have thanked you over and over again.
Special thanks to Jen and Steve Bebb who are the ones who gave me that little push to do this.

Nicole and Shaun…married
Holy Hannah! No lie! She came tearing in on Saturday and I thought it was going to be a complete wash out! Nicole and Shaun didn’t care one bit.
Liesa and I met Nicole and the girls at her house to get ready. I brought plenty of umbrellas! But, the rain was too bad to even try to attempt to shoot outside.
We ended up shooting in Nicole’s house which made for some fun shots of the girls. Once the limo showed up, we raced to the church to get set up. Nicole and Shaun were so cute during their ceremony, giggling constantly and there were a few choked back tears. Nicole almost couldn’t control her excitement before the first kiss!
We nixed all photos at the church so we could head to the Lancaster Country Club where we had almost the run of the place.
During the cocktail hour, Shaun’s Mom Katie, helped organize and place everyone since they had such large groups. She kept apologizing for taking control, but honestly, I appreciated it so much!!
I then snuck Nicole and Shaun around to photograph them alone. Then, the grand entrance to the reception began with blue and white pom poms right into their first dance. They had taken dance lessons for a while and it was beautiful!
Dinner was being served when all of a sudden, the sun came out. Nicole looked at me and asked if we could go out, but was worried about us eating. I said who cares about food, let’s go!! The winds were strong, but it was so worth it!! This totally made the day!! Then we heard shout from behind us and everyone was pointing to the sky. There, like the perfect end to the day was the biggest and brightest rainbow. What more could you ask for!!
Everyone then headed back in to eat and party. What an awesome day!!!
And now…..your show.
