Dara and Kevin

Later on Sunday, I met Dara and Kevin at Millersville University for their engagement session. This is where they both met during Grad class and thought it would be nice for the session to be here. We walked around a lot looking for some great places to shoot even if it meant climbing a few things! Thanks for putting up with my requests! Here is a sneak peek!

Natasha and Amanda

Natasha and Amanda came to me a while ago to see if I would shoot pics of just them. These two have more pictures of their group of friends than I do! I was happy to help! So Sunday morning, we ventured out to have fun. Here are just a few from our exciting morning!

Stevie and Andy…married

I have been looking forward to Stevie and Andy’s wedding for a while now. Stevie and I have formed a friendship ever since their engagement session. She is a avid blog watcher of not only me, but other photographers and she keeps me posted on things she thinks I might be interested in.
Their wedding was held at Andy’s family Orchard near Gratz. Katie and I were greeted by the cutest cat which we affectionately named Fred. We were informed we could take him home if we really wanted to….tempting….
What a beautiful place this was for a wedding! There were so many incredible places to shoot! My head was spinning with possibilities. Stevie and Andy decided to see each other before the wedding and have all their photos done. It was very windy and the bridesmaids were freezing! But they hung in there.
At the start of the ceremony, Stevie and her Dad were escorted in a (wish I knew the year) Camaro. It was awesome because you could hear them coming before they even got up the hill! The service was held in front of an arbor that Andy’s Dad built and was finished with amazing flowers from Kreations By Kris in Herndon.
Once the ceremony was over and the family formals done, we still had a ton of time, so Stevie suggested we keep shooting! She didn’t even care the whole time if her dress got dirty. She just told me to do my thing. Love Ya!!
Then we headed off to Kevin’s Place for the reception. There was a corner set up specifically for the kids so they had something to do. A TV, crafts, and someone to keep an eye on them. What a great idea!! But, they pretty much took over the dance floor once the music really started to pick up! Boogie Knights kept them going!
Here is your show and some highlights!

I love this shot of Stevie. She was trying to read her letter Andy gave her and the wind just wouldn’t quit.

Brittany and Jeff

Monday, I met Brittany and Jeff on City Island for their engagement session. I wanted to meet them somewhere in between both of us so they didn’t have to go to far. Since it was mid day on Monday, no one was on the Island. This made it more comfortable for them to interact without people stopping and watching. It was extremely hot, so we moved quickly. These two are so cute together. They have been dating since they were 14…how sweet!! Here is a sneak peak….

The Perfect Plan

Well, as most people know, I don’t celebrate my birthday on my birthday…TODAY…so, last night, since I had the weekend free, Liesa and I attended the Grand Opening of The Perfect Plan in Millersville. Lori Hemphill is the owner. I had the pleasure of working with her at a wedding this summer and she is the greatest wedding coordinator to work with!

Across from the showroom, there was a huge tent set up and you could already hear the music playing. Staff was on hand serving the most wonderful appetizers. There was a sushi bar set up in the back which I hit a few times. Sushi is now my favorite food!!! Fire and Ice were the main food vendors who also had a crazy vodka luge that had pomegranate martinis flowing all night! You really need to go check out Lori’s showroom. It is quite incredible! Thank you Lori for inviting us! Here are just a few from the night. Lori told me not to work…

Emily and Dave

I met Emily and Dave in Hershey at Founder’s Hall for their engagement session. The weather was so perfect! I decided to not use so much of the fru-fru stuff people tend to flock to at founder’s hall. Emily and I agreed that it reminded us too much of Prom pictures. So we head behind the buildings for some fun shots, but still got great portraits with the beautiful landscaping. We had a lot of fun walking around and talking. I just wish I would have been available for their wedding also…..her are a few from the other night.

Dione and Boonta…married

This was the first double ceremony for Katie and I. Dione and Boonta decided to represent both of their cultures for their wedding day. The morning started out at Boonta’s families house where the traditional Laotian ceremony was held. There were a ton of people running around beforehand making so much food for after the ceremony and later in the night.
We were all in a smaller room gathered around Dione and Boonta and close family. They sat in front of 2 “trees” called phakouanh which are holding fruit and rice. They are given strings to hold which have been blessed while the “minister” is chanting over them. Then, they feed each other eggs which have been given to them but the family. When all this is done, the guests take small strings from the tree and tie around Dione and Boonta’s wrist while blessing them. They then have to wear them for 7 days. Once this ceremony and small reception were over, we all headed over to the Lancaster Arts Hotel where most of the bridesmaids and groomsmen were getting ready. Dione had to start all over again with hair and makeup for the American ceremony.
Let me just tell you, Dione wanted nothing that was like anyone else. Her ideas were so unique, from her dress, to the amazing bouquet/sphere that Kelly from All Things Beautiful put together for her, to the beautifully decorated reception. Things just kept getting better!
The ceremony was held at the Ephrata Cloister. This place was so photographically beautiful. The light was so amazing. After the short ceremony, we all headed to Liberty Place in Lancaster for a huge party. Unlike American receptions, the Lao tradition is to have a huge party for friends and family even if they don’t come to the ceremonies. The number of people went from about 75 to 400. It was crazy!! We arrived at Liberty Place, we headed right into the room where everything was taking place to grab some shots before cocktail hour was over. There at the front of the stage was what I was waiting for….the crazy cake! ( House of Clarendon)
I knew Dione wouldn’t disappoint with that! Here are a few sneak peaks and your show !!
