Abbie and Joe…married

This is about a week late, but Abbie and Joe were on a European cruise, so this should greet them as they get home….
Last Saturday, Katie and I headed to Annville and Lebanon for Abbie and Joe’s wedding. We met Abbie and all 10 bridesmaids(yes, I said 10) at the Annville Bed and Breakfast. This place was so beautiful and had amazing light throughout. We arrived right as the girls were sitting down for brunch, so we explored a little and shot some details while we waited. Once Abbie was in her dress, we had her come in the bathroom where we found some great ideas. All the time we spent in there was so worth it. Once I looked through everything, I saw the image below and thought, this was why I do what I do. Not only that, but when you have amazing couples like Abbie and Joe, that trust you and you feel like friends with and even buy cars that they suggest…..That is why I love this job! Ok, back to their wedding….
We then headed over to the church to grab a few shots of the guys, but with so many of them, someone was always missing so we held off till afterward. The ceremony was not your typical catholic ceremony. I have never heard people laugh so hard during the homily. But this was Abbie and Joe’s personality. They are not serious at all. Instead of tearing up as Abbie came down the aisle, Joe was waving at her. They are too cute!
Abbie and I have been talking back and forth for months about their wedding party photos. Joe is a teacher and coach at a near by high school so we thought it was appropriate to shoot there. The field was fake grass and the lines were painted on so I didn’t have to worry about them getting dirty. The ideas were just flowing and then I turned and Katie said, “they are doing a pyramid!” The GIRLS!!! I was cracking up at this point watching them in their dress climb on each other. They didn’t get all the way up, but close!! They also put up with my request to lay on the field and spell out an A heart J. In my head it was awesome….until I realized I wasn’t in a helicopter to shoot it over head…. but I wasn’t going to saw “Nah, forget it” after I had them positioned….
After bearing the heat, they all packed in the trolley and we headed to the Lantern Lodge for the reception. Abbie warned me of their first dance. It was not going to be typical. They love the movie Juno, so Joe made up a dance to the opening song of the movie. Again, everyone was laughing and it totally represented Abbie and Joe. I could go on and on about the laughter and fun of these two and the day, but instead, here is your show!

Emma is One!!

During Emma’s 9 months shoot, after talking to her Mom and Grandma, we realized we would be on vacation at in the Outer Banks at the same time, right as Emma turned 1.
So I told them that we should definitely shoot her one year session on the beach!! It was a beautiful day and incredibly light. I look forward to seeing her and her parents every session so this was a treat to be able to share part of our vacation together.

Erin and Sean…married

Last Saturday, Katie and I went to Harrisburg for Erin and Sean’s wedding. We met the girls at the Hilton while they got dressed. It was so much fun with all the girl talk that we felt like we were even more part of the wedding. We both agreed that Erin has to be the most animated bride getting ready that we have seen so far! The faces were almost painful as she was getting zipped in.
We had a little bit of time before heading over to the church for some fun shots of the girls. It was quite interesting walking through the hotel because there was a military function going on and they all loved Erin! Some even wanted to jump in the shots…
We then headed around the corner to the church. We have been running into some of the same people and priests at weddings lately. I think we could start a business venture….
After the ceremony, we had about 2 hours to do whatever we wanted. We did keep it short due to the fact that it was so humid and a storm was about to hit. Katie and I then headed over to Heritage Hills to scope out the reception. Erin’s Mom was one of the main planners in the wedding and the details were incredible! Once the wedding party arrived, Erin and Sean had their first dance (to our wedding song) and then the party started! We had such a great time and enjoyed seeing some familiar faces throughout the day. Hope you guys had a great honeymoon!! Here is your show!

Katie and Eric…married in St. Thomas

I can’t believe it came and went so fast. Katie and I had a count down of when we were leaving, even texting each other in the morning before we left. Last Monday, we left from NYC on the Carnival Miracle, setting sail for San Juan, St. Thomas and Tortola. 21 family and friends of Katie and Eric came along. We had almost a week on the ship before the wedding day in St Thomas. Katie was the calmest non chalant bride ever. She wanted to avoid all the hoopla that comes with weddings. Whatever happened, happened. We took 2 vans to Lime Tree beach where the coordinators were waiting. This view was incredible. The ceremony was held right under the palm trees in front of the ocean. 5 minutes tops!
Then everyone else was shuttled back to the ship to change while I had Katie and Eric alone to shoot on the beach. We then headed back to the ship to eat quick and then shoot more on the ship because it was hot and we wanted to spend the rest of the day going around St Thomas. This trip was one of the most incredible experiences of my life! As I type this, I wish I was back on the boat…. I love you guys and miss you all!!! Thank you for allowing me to shoot this and for Tony and I to come along.
And of course….your show!

Amy and Bryce…married

Yesterday we woke up to torrential downpours. I was not sure how the day would end up… We headed to Middletown to meet Amy and the girls at her sisters house. By this time it was just drizzling. A good sign. By the time we got to the church, the sun was shining! It was amazing how well things turned out.
Bryce and the guys were at the church waiting patiently for Amy’s arrival. It was quite warm in the church by this time because there was no air. They all mage it through beautifully. After the ceremony and family formals, we met everyone back at Harmony Hall for less soggy photos. The grass to my surprised was completely dry. So we used this opportunity to kick off our shoes and used the beautiful landscaping. Then we headed inside to for lots of food and dancing! Here is a quick sneak preview! Have fun in St. Thomas! We might see you there!

Amanda and Curtis…married

Ever since Amanda had told me she was wearing a red dress, I couldn’t stop thinking about her wedding. I referred to her as my red dress bride whenever the date came up.
So, Saturday finally came. Katie and I first met Curtis and the rest of the guys at Clipper stadium in Lancaster. There, we were let in to shoot wherever we wanted to. Curtis is a huge baseball fan and the night before, Amanda arranged for the rehearsal dinner to be in sky box at the game, plus, Curtis got to throw out the opening pitch! How is that for love!
Then we headed off to Amanda’s sisters house where the girls got ready. The first thing I said (besides say hello) was where is the dress? Amanda was stunning in it!
A few quick photos and we headed downtown to the church. It was quite a surprise when Curtis’ little sister Katie got up to sing. Of course they knew it, but I was surprised and the tears started already….
Finally, we had a rain free Saturday, so we stuck with our plan and headed toward the train tracks. This was one thing Amanda wanted. The wind, sun and everything else cooperated with us and I couldn’t have been happier!
Their reception was at the Mulberry Arts studio in Lancaster. I haven’t been there in a while so it was a great change. After the first dance, everyone filed in line to have their personally made pasta dishes. Very nice!
Amanda then danced with her mother and 2 uncles and the tears came flowing even more. (Note: this is why my camera is never away from my face at this time) It was a very emotional day and I am thankful we were able to share it with you. Here is your show!
