Friday, Katie and I went to Mt Gretna for Wendy and Dominic’s wedding. Living so close, I have only been there a few times all these years. I love this place. The houses reminded me so much of doll houses. I decided, this is where I would really like to live!! One day, when the kids are grown! We arrived a little early so we walked around to see where we wanted to shoot all the pre wedding stuff. Once we found Wendy, we went to the little house she was getting ready in. There was a slight hair dilemma, but luckily, Katie and are girlie girls and can fix any hair and make-up trauma!
Dominic was waiting outside for Wendy because they decided to see each other and do all the formals before hand. I highly recommend doing this because it takes away a lot of the wedding jitters. Dominic was a little pale before he saw Wendy, but perked right up after the initial “meeting”. Wendy only had her sister standing up with her and Dominic has just his best man so the party was small. The ceremony lasted only 4 minutes, shortest on record for us!! Once the family formals were shot, everyone headed to the reception/dinner where they kept it very small. So Katie and I shot the cake and headed out. Thanks guys for keeping it simple and to the point!! Enjoy the show !!
Maggie and Andy…married
Saturday was round 2 this weekend…at the Lancaster Theological Seminary
We started out with the Maggie and her 3 sisters while they got ready. Time was running short, so we grabbed the guys who were hiding upstairs for some fun shots in the class rooms and then went out to a secret passage Katie found while we walked around before anyone arrived. We had so much fun, we even got Andy’s Dad to join in.
The ceremony was quite lovely with a little humor thrown in be the littlest ring bearer. The kids really stole the show at this wedding!
After the ceremony and some fun shots with the wedding party, we headed off to Bent Creek Country Club for the reception. Every little detail was well planned out from the black and white decorations to the signature drink “the Cat’s Meow” which was flowing a plenty!! Thanks for letting us be a part of your day! Have fun in St. Lucia!!!
Here is your show and some sneak peaks.
Elizabeth-Jane and Steve
What a night!! Elizabeth contacted me a few weeks ago asking if we could do her and Steve’s engagement session at the York Fair. I thought that was a great idea! Of course I was up for it! They drove all the way up from DC for the evening to do this! So, I met them at her parents house for some quick shots in the back yard and then we headed to the fair. My mind was spinning with ideas! I asked them if they were up for anything, and they agreed to anything! We started off at the games and Elizabeth won on the first try! She was so thrilled! Then she gave her stuffed frog away to a little girl who was so excited!
We shot around at some of the colorful stands before heading to the ticket booth so we could get on the rides. Now mind you, this was a little scary for me as I get a little freaked out by carny rides…but, what better ride to break my fear than the pirate ship. I was completely nuts for shooting on this ride b/c I could feel myself losing my grip on the camera everytime I went up. I was gripping under the seat in front of me with my feet hoping I would fly out! But what great shots! After that excitement, we decided to keep our feet on the ground and use the sun setting and all the lights around us. Steve never thought an photo shoot could be so much fun! I can’t wait for the wedding next year!!
Here are a few from our fun!
Elizabeth wanted a shot with them making a heart with their hands because they do this all the time….. how cute!
Jen and Derek….married
“At least it wasn’t raining” was the theme for Saturday. Everyone kept saying how hot and sticky it was. But it was beautiful no matter what for Jen and Derek’s wedding.
This was only the second time I did a wedding at the Conewago Manor Inn. . I had never been inside before. Wow! What a great little hidden gem! I could have shot in there all day!
Jen and Derek did things the way I like….they decided to see each other before the wedding and do all their pics before the ceremony. This way, we could take our time and then they could freshen up and relax. They were also able to go right to their cocktail hour and be with all their guests.
Katie and I hung out with the girls to start and then we took Jen to a different floor of the manor for some awesome shots. Jen was such a beautiful bride with the cutest smile!
Then Jen and Derek saw each other for the first time. They are so sweet together and it was like no one else was around.
We had some fun with the whole wedding party outside. But it was hot!! So, we finished with them and sent them back in to cool off, until I found a great little shelled out building. I didn’t want Jen to get dirty before the wedding b/c I didn’t know if the shout wipes would fix it, so we didn’t get down and dirty with them. I told Jen she can always dress up again for an after session and not worry about the dirt…
After a short and sweet ceremony, everyone headed over to the Patio for cocktail hour and then the reception under the tent. Once all the formalities were over, the DJ kicked it up and the dance floor was packed the rest of the night! The grandparents were giving some of the younger crowd a run for their money!
We had such a good time! Thanks for letting us share in your special day! Check out your show !!
Katie and Tim…married
Katie and Tim’s wedding was our first of the weekend. We started out at Katie’s parents house while the girls got ready. It was hard to keep track of them all because the house had so many rooms and most of the girls looked way too much alike! It was a very calm place though. No rushing and no real nerves yet. For the ceremony, we headed to St Mary’s in York. Everything seemed to be running fine until no one was coming down the aisle……It was so sweet, Katie’s grandmother was a little late and Katie didn’t want to start the ceremony without her. There was a great sigh of relief when she came through the door. Smooth sailing from there.
I took Katie and Tim after the ceremony to the balcony and stairs for a little private moment since I knew it would be chaotic after we left. I am so glad I did. The light was amazing.
Between the ceremony and reception, we stopped at Box Hill country club for some family formals and more of the wedding party. There was so much time in between, the wedding party went back to the house and my Katie and I went to the Outdoor Country Club to hang with the guests and get some detail shots before it all started.
Once Katie and Tim arrived the party started and was still going when we left. Thanks to JJ Michaels!! We had a great time! Here are a few from Saturday and your
slideshow !!
Cali and Quinn…..married
Sunday, we went to Harrisburg for Cali and Quinn’s wedding. The whole wedding party was getting ready at the Hilton which was really great since the reception was being held there as well. It was a little crazy getting there since Kipona was going on….
Cali was just breath taking when we walked in, even in her J-lo velour sweatsuit with he new name inscribe on her behind! So cute! All the girls were running around in Team Pitchel tanks that were given to them at the shower. They knew how to have fun with all of this! In the midst of getting ready, we left to find the guys since they were ready to go. Katie and I took them down to the parking garage and on the street for some fun shots. Then back up to the room for the girls. Once it was time to go, we jumped in the car and raced to the church in Hummelstown for one of the most emotional ceremonies. Cali’s Dad not only gave her away, but her performed the ceremony. It was very hard for everyone to choke back the tears and get through this one! Whew!
Back to the Hilton we go, but for a short stop at the Capital for the wedding party and some quick shots of Cali and Quinn. This group was a lot of fun to work with because they were constantly giggling and we really good about letting us do our thing.
Walking into the ballroom at the reception, it was beautiful. Very, tastefully decorated by Kelly from
All Things Beautiful.
We also found another great DJ, Mike DeAcosta from Spectrasound. He had everyone laughing and dancing all night as well! What a great time! Thanks guys for letting us be part of your celebration!!! Here are some sneak peaks and your slideshow !!
Susanne and Eric
Tonight I had the pleasure of shooting Susanne and Eric’s engagement session here in Mount Joy. Eric grew up here so it was nice to incorporate his home town in the photos. I have lived here for almost 10 years and thought I knew Mount Joy well….little did I know there was the greatest bridge right up the street.
We started at the bridge and then headed into town stopping at every little place I saw. It was a lot of fun, but I knew Susanne wasn’t up for the hiking we did all over town in her shoes, so I cut her a break.. 😉 Here are a few from tonight.
Amanda
Tonight, I had an amazing senior session with Amanda! After the e-mails and phone calls from her Mom to set this up, I was so excited to work with her because she was so excited to have me photograph her! I met them both at the E-town train station. This place has such amazing light that I love shooting there. Amanda was such a natural in from of the camera it made it so easy. After a few quick changes, we walked a bit to another spot I love, that seemed to be torn up with construction. So, we used it anyway!
During out shoot, Amanda announced she was taking us out to her new favorite place called the Fractured Prune for donuts! There we sat and talked like old girlfriends forever! It was such a great time! Thanks Amanda and Tracy! Here are a few from our session!
Emma 3 months
Tuesday, Emma turned 3 months old, so her parents wanted to document this time. She was such a cute and quiet little baby! Her parents are lucky! Emma pretty much let us put her anywhere except on her belly….and Jeter (the doggie) was there to make sure I wasn’t going to hurt Emma. Her are a few from Emma’s session.
Hannah’s senior pics….
Tonight I had the chance to shoot Hannah’s senior photos. I met her and her Mom and F+M college in Lancaster. Let me just say, Hannah has the greatest head of hair!! I was so thrilled when she walked up! We walked around campus and Bucannan Park ALOT! There is always something new I find to shoot when I go there. Here are just a few from tonight!
