Saturday, it was exactly one year since I sat down with Megan at her work and talked about doing her wedding photography. That year went so fast!
Katie and I met Megan and her girls at the Netherlands Inn in Strasburg. Everything was very calm. No one was rushing around, which was so nice. While the girls were hanging out, we decided to find the guys and get them taken care of so they could go back inside and stay cool. Even though this was a beautiful spa, we found the greatest not so pretty places to shoot! What was even better was Eddies kicks! Check em’ out below!
Before the ceremony, we went back to find the girls and do some not so formal formals. When the ceremony started, it was blazing hot! A nice added touch were the programs designed to be fans and the labeled water bottles for the guests comfort! They thought of everything.
Afterward, we walked around to find a few more places to shoot the wedding party and Megan and Eddie. The walls of the guest rooms were so awesome! It brought out the blue in Megan’s eyes so much!
Inside, the reception was already starting. They went right into their first dance and then it was 2 wonderful and emotional toasts by both Megan and Eddie’s fathers.
More emotions came out during the dollar dance when Eddie’s Grandmother and Grandfather who are wheelchair bound, stood to dance briefly with Megan and Eddie. Talk about tears! This was the first time Katie has really lost it during a wedding. Usually it is me with the waterworks! Then, the party really got started. The dance floor was packed the rest of the night! Thanks guys for letting us share in your special day! Here is your slideshow !!
Happy Birthday!!!!
Well, today is one year since I had the site revamped and the blog was sort of born…(used to be a blogspot)
It has been a such a productive year because of it. I wanted to thank everyone who has been a loyal blog stalker and those who made this all possible. A big thanks to Brock Martin who designed everything!! So….Happy Birthday to us!!!
Made it into the Sunday paper!
I had received a call the other day because of the images I shot of Natasha that were on the Trash the Dress website. One of the writers for the Reading Eagle newspaper wanted me to send him some images to use with an article they were running. So…here it is in today’s paper!!! The Article.
Lauren and Mike…married
Saturday was a wedding I was really looking forward to! Not that I don’t look forward to all my weddings, but I was really excited for Lauren and Mike’s. I think it is because I got to spend a whole day with them during their engagement session and the fact that Lauren’s Mom, Linda was always calling me and writing me notes telling me how excited she was for me to be there. When Katie and I arrived at Lauren’s parents house, Linda was there with open arms and an open kitchen! She made sure we were well fed before we headed out the door to the church. This was after the girls got ready and we shot a few pics before the limo came. The ceremony was held at St Joseph’s in Hanover. It think it was one of the quickest catholic ceremony’s ever! We wanted to limit the amount of family formals at the church to utilize the grounds at The Stone Mill Inn. Plus it was a good bit of a drive.
We took Lauren and Mike around to a few spots and Lauren’s dress seemed to pick up a few critters along the way. For those of you that know me, I don’t handle bugs very well. Thank goodness there were no crickets or I would have been a mess! It was a little too sticky out and we need to get the festivities started, so we headed back to the tent where cocktail hours was and they had their first dances before moving inside. We decided it would be best to wait for the sun to set to get the really sweet light! I am so glad, b/c Lauren was absolutely stunning! I actually teared up when she first put her dress on.
After all the formal activities were over, the dancing started and the cigars came out. Everyone was just in a very relaxed mood the rest of the night. What a great time! Thank you guys for letting us share this day with you!! Here are a few sneak peaks and your slideshow
Molly and Josh…married
Friday was Molly and Josh’s wedding day! We met the girls early at Cameron Estates where they held everything. The weather was so hot and sticky and a storm was looming. The ceremony was held at the gazebo behind the carriage house. They had it decorated so beautifully! No rain yet…..
As soon as we started family formals, the thunder began. We then raced around the grounds to get pics of Molly and Josh. Once we knew we were in trouble, we headed into the house. These to me were so much more personal and we could just goof around!. Outside waited a car for us so we didn’t get soaked walking to the carriage house. Once inside, it was like a black and white dream! The room was classy! After dinner was served, there was a little dancing and more cake smashing! Haha! Then everyone grabbed sparklers and headed outside for Molly and Josh to leave. Once the sparklers were lit, you almost couldn’t see when they came running out! So, ere are a few from the day and the slideshow
Nikolaus 7 months
Thursday, I had the pleasure of photographing Nikolaus for his 6/7 months pics. My goodness he grew since I saw him last! He is such a big boy and I love healthy big babies! My boys were little Michelin men too! His Mom and I have become such great friends since I did her wedding a few years ago. It is always great to have them come back for different sessions! Her are just a few from the MANY great ones I have from our session! Good luck picking Mon!
Huh. Look at that….
Just thought I would share!! Natasha’s pics made it on “Trash The Dress”!
So much fun!!
A little dirt…
I have been trying to get out to shoot for myself a little bit more. I realized a few days ago, I photograph people better than I do “things”. Some photographers can make nature and pieces of anything look gorgeous. I can’t.
I have had an image in my head for a few months and needed someone to “be ” that image. I contacted Natasha whom I photographed before. I knew she would do just about anything. So, I took her and my new intern Katy out and created what I had imagined.
I would like to think of it as an alternative Bridal Session. Given the amount of time I had and location, I was able to create beautiful images of Natasha. This is something I am going to start offering. “Bridal sessions” Before or after the wedding. If you are interested, shoot me an e-mail and I would be more than happy to do it. Check em’ out!
Liz and Bruce married…..
Saturday, Katie and I went to Harrisburg for Bruce and Liz’s wedding. We started at Liz’s Mom’s house where the girls were getting ready. We grabbed a few getting ready shots and once the trolley arrived, we headed to St. Margaret Mary’s for the ceremony. Liz and Bruce’s daughter Grace was one of the flower girls, but the poor thing tuckered out before the ceremony and slept the whole way through. She was still so cute!! After the ceremony, Bruce wanted to go to the Capital building for some shots of just him and Liz. It was sooooo hot, we were there for a few minutes and then hopped back in the cars to go to Cameron Estates
for the reception. Before we went into the reception, I managed to talk the wedding party into getting more shots outside. While I was doing that, Katie was chasing around their son Gavin to capture his mood of the day. She grabbed an awesome shot of him!
Then the party started! This was such a fun crowd and the DJ, Mike Miller from 99.3 kiss Fm did an awesome job of keeping the music going.
Once the formalities and a little cake smashing was out of the way, the kids took over the dance floor and everyone had such a great time!
Here are a few from the day and the slideshow
Abbie and Joe
Thursday, I headed to Lebanon to meet Abbie and Joe for their engagement session. We all hopped in Abbies car and drove around to places Abbie had scoped out. After a few bridges and trails, we headed into the city. I knew we would find what we were looking for. We stolled through the Market, down some alleys and found Sirro’s italian ice shop. We never knew it was there before! We ran in to see if we were allowed to take pictures and the owner was more than happy to let us do it. He even provided an ice cream float for them to share! So, here are a few from our adventure….
Joe being Joe…..
